Marianne's Ice Cream

A Santa Cruz landmark of sorts, Marianne's Ice cream is known for its dancing cow wallpaper, and having over 70 flavors at any given point. These flavors come served in bowls, 3 types of cones, or in a variety of sundaes. Sodas and shakes are also available. Most things can be customized so if you like your chocolate shake made with vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup, don't be afraid to ask. Keep it within moderation though; a request for a super large super thick malt made with RC cola instead of milk is near impossible. But asking for an extra cherry is fine.

For those looking for more than just a scoup or two, prepacked quarts are available for sale, and you can request flavors to be packed by one of the workers.

Some famous flavors include
1020: caramel ice cream with a fudge swirl and oreos mixed in.
Mint Chip: Green mint ice cream with chocolate mint candies mixed in.
Macapuno: Creamy baby coconut ice cream.
Licorice: Only place in 100 miles that sells a black licorice ice cream.
Garlic: Supplied to the Stinking Rose in San Francisco and to the Gilroy garlic festival. Available by request only.

The ice cream is all made locally, and supplies many restaurants within the Santa Cruz, Monterey and San Francisco Bay areas.

NOTE: Nothing irritates the employees more than people trying to verify whether or not the walls are really scratch and sniff. They are not.
